Two very strange things are happening this weekend!
One! Compass Cafe has always closed at 7PM every single day… NOW it’s going to be opened after-hours every Friday this summer for fun-filled themed evenings. Strange! I know! This Friday is Karaoke Night 🎤 Come out or stop by after work! Bring a friend or the entire family! You can showcase your singing skills and hear other voices 👂 Mingle and meet new friends here and enjoy the sips and fresh baked yummies at Compass! Milkshakes, frappes, sundaes, juices, tea, cakes, sandwiches and more! Not to mention the fabulous houseblend here ☕️ and coffees from around the world 🌎 You can also keep cool with stuff from the fridge like Jodi Bakes original tres leches cake and scream pie. The best part! It will be sunset 🌅 not dark yet! What an awesome start for summer 2017 😎 Karaoke night begins at 7pm THIS FRIDAY 🎶

I love watching this video! Kids from HopeNYC describe their moms and wish them an early Happy Mother’s Day! Most of these parents attended yesterday’s dance where this video was first viewed. Hopers! Find your child or yourself or just hear all of them!
The dance was such a beautiful experience! Proceeds went towards HopeNYC’s International Missions Ministry who partnered with the ZionProject to help rescue sex trafficking victims. Some girls get trapped into it while some are sold by their own parents in an effort to provide for the other siblings in the family. Mothers were honored and treated like royalty last night at HopeNYC while giving towards the cause. Wildfire; the teen ministry of the church made the night into an elegant experience executing beautiful hospitality. Gentlemen escorted the mothers upstairs to their table. The girls attended to the needs of the guest and served the three course meal with the gentlemen joining in. There were gifts for every lady in the room; mom or not. There were special awards for our beautiful pastor, the lady crowned for mother of the year and gentleman of the night. There was also a crowning for best dressed. Entertainment was smooth! Reggae was performed live by Art Crawford and Eddie Neblett with DJ Mark Xclusive. The night could not have ended until the well-known reggae song: She’s Royal was played. It was all a wonderful night filled with entertainment, raffles, decorations, great food, exquisite gowns, dancing, relaxation, appreciation, love, photos…. check out the pictures! Also stay tuned on the HopeNYC website and Facebook for their upcoming Mother’s day service!
Dinner, dancing, entertainment and more! A night fit for a queen: YOUR MOM!
Everyone is invited to this dance! It’s THIS SUNDAY April 30th at 3:30pm! It’s formal attire, there’s free gifts for all moms, great door prizes, comedy, delicious food and deserts and childcare will be available! There’s also a prize for the best gentleman of the night and more! Although this night is devoted towards giving the mothers the royal treatment, EVERYONE IS INVITED TO THIS EVENT!
PLUS Minister Eddie Neblett and DJ Mark Xclusive will be in the building!

The Jubilee ministry is for ages 50 and over! There is an exciting meeting this Saturday with an international theme! Relax, play some games, sing karaoke, mingle, learn a craft and eat great food because it’s going to be a potlock; people will bring dishes from their countries! It’s happening at 4pm this Saturday at HopeNYC Church!
Just like I mentioned in my previous vlogs! I will let you know of any awesome events opened to the community!
It’s 7pm. The doors of Compass are closed! But wait! People are inside. How do I know? Did I see them? No! I heard them!
I heard a harmony of voices hover around as it echoed down the hall. I opened the door to a group of people gathered together about to start something….actually finish something.
It’s the HopeNYC Choir! They have been practicing in the cafe after hours for the past few nights. This is not an ordinary cafe. During the day it’s your go-to place for coffee and comfy seating but by night, it can be a birthday celebration, open mic night, young adult gathering, brainstorm for a project, ministry meeting, filming location and more! I believe great things start here.
So what does the HopeNYC choir sound like? Come and hear them.
Compass is on a mission! Proceeds from this shop goes towards providing clean drinking water to impoverished countries and helps end human trafficking through partnership with the Zion Project!
