‘Twas the perfect Christmas night filled with joy, excitement, music and lights! Rockaway blvd was alive and filled with joy as HopeNYC kicked off the Christmas season! HopeNYC’s annual light Parade has awakened the neighborhood and grabbed the attention of thousands! After long days and nights of carving styrofoam, painting, glittering, motorizing moving parts etc, the finished floats strolled out spectacularly stunning the streets with it’s beauty from God’s glory. Each float revealed something significant and special about the king of kings! Even the very story books we read for Christmas came to life and told something glorious about His Story which is History!
The floats later made their way home to HopeNYC Church and the crowd eagerly followed! Then finally in plain sight appeared the largest Christmas tree Queens had ever seen! Thousands of bright vibrant dazzling lights. The finale began with hot chocolate and cookies galore that tasted just right. Right after, the celebration was followed by a sparkling performance by the Hope Dancers! The night officially ended as Caribbean gospel artist Eddie Neblett sang us out after singing songs all night from his Christmas album: The Birth of Savior (On iTunes) People got to take photos with the float characters and dancers after the tree lighting. Family and friends also gathered for photos by the Hope Tree! We also could not miss the opportunity to take photos with Santa!
To see some phone footage, photos, live videos, posts and more from the parade just go on Facebook or Instagram and search for #HopeParade2016. Also LIKE HopeNYC on Facebook if you haven’t yet so you can catch the upcoming fun Christmas events and the Christmas and New Years service!
You’ve probably had a jaw breaker but ever tried a home wrecker? It’s a crumbly, delicious satisyingly sweet pie with peaches! It is perfectly prepared & carefully crafted by Jodi Bakes. I asked for mine warmed up & served with whipped cream. As you would imagine, I loved it, enjoyed it, thought about having another slice by my last bite but lets see the reaction of someone important. Pastor Sharo, Senior Pastor of HopeNYC!
WildFire has launched for 2015! These are the teens of HopeNYC & they have an action packed awesome time every Friday at 7pm! They serve Jesus & set the city ablaze with a passion for His name! Teens are affected here at Wildfire every week. They walk into a fun & lively atmosphere where everyone fellowships, play bizarre games, have nachos & hear a life changing message. Teens leave feeling free, happy, encouraged, & on fired for Jesus! This past Wildfire, Gospel artist Sir Hall came & ministered. His music was incredibly empowering, encouraging & just Amazing! The teens & adults in the room danced wildly & worshiped the Lord. For the rest of the night there were also group dances, Bible trivia with buzzers, crazy games, live Dj, Birthday cakes………Bottom line, it was a big night & successful launch! If you know some teens in NYC….WildFire is definitely the Best spot for ages 13-19.
WildFire starts a new series tomorrow called Roller Coaster!
Recap: VBS stands for Vacation Bible Study, It’s just for Kids ages 4-10 & HopeNYC does it every year! Each VBS has a different theme!
BLAST OFF was VBS 2014 at HopeNYC Church! This incredible fun-filled weekend just ended & all the lucky little ones left with hope in their hearts, lots of wisdom, joy & back packs full of school supplies! Yes FREE BOOK BAGS! The children really enjoyed this year’s space themed VBS! The realistic NASA ship, The Blast Off T-shirts, Special space guest: Astronaut Reggie, The space monkeys, The create your own rocket station, Asteroid toss game, & tons more! The kids also got pizza, snow cones, face paint, prizes & a chance to go wild in the bounce house! Most importantly they learned about Almighty God & what Jesus has done for them through interesting stories & demonstrations (including a 4D movie) . They had fun learning songs & dance of praise…Yes in 3 Days! The children also got the chance to do a mission. They brought blank sketchers sneakers to life by adding gems & stickers. They decorated these shoes so nicely then filmed a short video… All for children in Panama with no shoes. It warmed my heart to see each kid raise their hand saying they wanted to go there one day. The Hope team will be flying there in September to distribute the wonderful shoes these kids made! VBS this year was out of this world! The most important lesson learned this weekend was to love eachother. The Hope kids showed love to kids in Panama they may never meet! They loved the new friends they have made in VBS, & we have even gotten cute reports that they “kissed their mommies at home” I was honored to be a crew leader & really enjoyed spending time with these kids. Scroll down & check out these cute pics of what happened at HopeNYC this weekend! 🙂
Yesterday was Wednesday & that means it was Hope Day! It was Reviving! Refreshing! & Absolutely Powerful! It’s not just a feeling! It the special day of the week where HopeNYC goes deep into God’s word. Each person went home last night renewed & transformed! As the service kicked off, the altars were being surrounded. The musicians started to play & so much joy was expressed in every note, strum & beat. Every adult, teen & child rejoiced with singing & dancing. The entire scene looked like a complete concert! The joy was unexplainable & Jesus was responsible. Eyes were opened & hearts were moved as message was preached. Deliverance came to those who prayed at the altar. Everyone left the building feeling refreshed, encouraged & ready to take on the rest of the week. When a HopeNYC service is over, We are never same.
Every Sunday is an Exciting one at HopeNYC. This week, We celebrated new members, heard an incredible message from a special speaker, celebrated a young bride to be & Took special time to remember Jesus’s great sacrifice on the cross; A sacrifice that had saved our lives! HopeNYC is truly a family. A family that consist of people with different personalities, different cultures, different interests, different ages etc… No matter who you are, what you are or where you’ve been, HopeNYC happily welcomes all. It’s not just church it’s Home. I lived in NYC all my life & can honestly say there is no place like that.
When God does a Miracle, say “Thank You” HopeNYC gave thanks with 2 families today in Lefferts blvd Queens! The weather was beautiful & The praises of Hope’s people filled the backyard. It was all for Jesus. Songs of praise, a Beautiful dance, a Special word & multiple Miraculous Testimonies. As a praying church, we rejoice today! We have been with the families the during times of distress & the massive medical problems. The doctors had even predicted death upon the oldest daughters in both families. Today everyone stands strong in perfect health with bright futures ahead of them. Blessed abundantly. The deliverance that seemed impossible was done easily by Jesus! Today, HopeNYC says Thank You!
Many people, especially those in the office refer to Wednesday as hump day. At HopeNYC, we call it Hope day! It is not our favorite day of the week because Saturday draws near, It is HopeNYC’s most incredible night! Many Hope members & visitors think of this prayer & deliverance service (Hope Day) as Life changing, Reviving, & Remarkable! We go real deep into God’s word, spend a lot of time in prayer & receive a fresh message that transforms the hearts of the listeners. There is great expectancy & unity among all the people as these hearts seek Jesus…The one this is all about.
HopeNYC is doing a special sermon in June called “My Anchor Holds.” The beautifully built boat on stage is a prop that represents our lives. The anchor of the boat latches on to a Rock that is grounded & dependable. Jesus is that Rock.
