Filling you In With Encouraging Tips!

This blog discusses good news and fills you in on kingdom events I hear about.

Today, I think we can use some encouragement. Obviously, we have all been through a number of obstacles. The battle can feel ongoing, after taking multiple attempts to seek out solutions and wait for deliverance.

A dollop of depression, a drizzle of stress, shavings of bitter, and sprinkles of anxiety can really seem to top it all off. It’s unhealthy!

Instead, fill up with as much as The Lord as you can in any way. HEAR, SING, DANCE, READ, SPEAK, LEARN ABOUT and SEEK HIM!

It may seem tough to push through or figure out how it would all be okay but don’t leave it to chance. Embrace the one who adores you right now. Even if it doesn’t make sense, having anything to do with Jesus can bring you freedom and peace from the feelings in your mind as you continue to wait for your answer. No matter what, His love will chase you down.

Get your fill:

  • Pray… then open your bible.
  • Pray with one or two friends who will support and agree with you. Matthew 18:19
  • Listen to worship songs throughout your day and prayer time. (Comment for suggestions)
  • Download the Ending your day right app.
  • Find a plan in the Bible app that suits you (21 days to beat depression is a good one even if you’re not all that depressed)
  • Went to church? Was the last sermon amazing? Listen to it again during the week by asking the media team if there is a CD/MP4 or live stream information.
  • Encourage yourself when there is no one and speak life. It works more than you know! There was actually a physical experiment that proves your words changes things. (Comment for more details)
  • Pray alone at home and on walks.
  • Remember that all things good and bad work together for your good if you live in Jesus.
  • Make a list of the things that are actually going good right now on paper.
  • Remember Jesus: He has overcome the world and has went through far worse. He gets you!

At HopeNYC, many has been delivered from problems and healed from “incurable” diseases! This is a praying church and The spirit of God is here! Visit if you are in or visiting New York www.HopeNYC.com

What Did I learn? (Health Tips Included)

Does anyone own a scale with never-changing numbers? Numbers that would just remain the same no matter how hard you try….

Today, I stepped on the scale and those numbers changed! Praise God!

I took time this year to focus on health and research about the body, nutrition, fitness, stress, medicine, vitamins and more! I am also enrolled in two health Hope Groups are this spring semester. These group are very effective and available to you if you can find your way to HopeNYC.  One group is taught by an actual physician and the other is taught by a phenomenal woman who has conquered the most challenging weight-loss obstacles. I can share some of what I learned and I hope it can help!

One shot is all you need:  Cardio doesn’t have to be long and painful. It should be short and painful 😀 which is better! Cardio is suppose to prepare your body for the exercise, not be the exercise. Running and walking is great but it can’t sculpt the abs for you. Cardio helps your body to burn while you deal with the real exercises: abs workouts, weight lifting, leg sculpting, squats etc. Developing those muscles can help shrink those areas but you need a shot to start!

The recipe for this shot calls for:

  1. A series of exercises like running in place
  2. Plyo-jacks
  3. Bear crawls
  4. Knee high running
  5. Butt-kick running
  6. SPEED
  7. 30 seconds of each one!

It’s short! But it’s all you need.

Abs don’t just lookgood: Developing abs can save your back! The abs are like the strong front anchor of your spine. When you work on your abs, you help your back muscles tremendously. Back pain gets reduced because your core is helping your back muscles in supporting you. It’s not too late to start your ab workout. The plank is one of the most effective I heard from the doctor.

Your action will influence others around you! You can tell your loved ones to exercise and it will turn them away. Cook tasty healthy meals and desserts, take your walks, eat healthy in a restaurant and photograph everything. Your actions will surely influence someone to try it!

Has carbs lied to you?  We think it will fill us up when eating it all the time can make us hungry. Protein keeps you full for much longer. See which protein-filled foods are your favorites. Reducing carbs will surely give you results.

Motivation is a must! Meeting up as a class each week really helped. Having someone to motivate you is important. Circumstances and problems can stop your progress! Make sure you have a friend, counselor, nutritionist, family member or someone to help motivate you and hear your problems out! Youtube videos can help. Prayer can help tremendously! I believe you can do it.

Sticky Wings

“I brought you back 5 wings ”

It was one of the most glorious statements you could ever hear from a husband after a long day of errands and no dinner. He had just returned from a Hope Group called The Head of The Household. They discuss their important roles as a husband and the real stuff about marriages with a new restaurant being their classroom each time. Men can benefit from a group like this!

Dallas BBQ is of course the place of the sticky wings and it has been a favorite spot for Hopers maybe….for about 10 years now! We’ve enjoyed youth Christmas parties, ministry meetings, Hope Group fun days, ladies day out, men’s night out and just plain hanging out! You learn and grow so much from just attending HopeNYC; The services, taking a Hope group class, and especially on an outing over a plate of sticky wings!

On an upcoming post I’ll share alittle more about how the Hope groups semester went and how you can grow if you would like to take a class in the future!

Woman’s T Party

I was advised to put my tea bag on my eyes to reduce puffiness! The Tea party happened last Sunday at HopeNYC. I know you’re imaging floral dresses, big hats and tea pots but the women’s ministry had quite a different agenda in mind! It wasn’t tea it was T!

T is for

  • Tips! From reducing wrinkles to opening an online jewelry store to recreating your T-Shirt! We went home 🏡 rich in tips that can help make us money, destress & beautify us!
  • TV! With a big TV screen placed on the stage and a panning camera, we saw ourselves! In fact! This event was an exciting Live TV show!
  • Time with Friends! Everyone sat together around the tables enjoying food and all of the segments along with a fashion show.
  • Time for ourselves! It was indeed a getaway from the kids and husband because this was JUST FOR WOMEN 16 to 106 years old! 😃
  • Time with God! This was the best part! It’s truly a miracle to get stress to finally leave a woman’s mind because stress is stubborn carrying many reasons behind it. With a few individuals interceding and praying for us in God’s presence, He removed every bit of that stress! We left the meeting delivered and changed! More than just an enjoyable evening. Only God can do that. An aim for every woman’s meeting is to help make us more stronger each time so we can feel it and be it!
  • Tea there was none.

Good Friday

Saturday

The Kids are Busy!

School is not the only thing this week on the minds of the kids at HopeNYC. They have been busy helping victims of human trafficking! Creating over 60 candy-filled boxes! Taking charge of a breakfast menu! Supporting the ministry! Prepping for a 2018 launch event!

Kids have a blast at HopeNYC church. They

learn, pray, grow and play but also take care of their ministries. HopeKidz and Tweens help kids grow in Christ all year round in the most exciting creative ways. They’re constantly aiming to make each year better than the last. They also make new kids feel welcomed and at times make it their mission to help others across the globe.

Sending over some shoes & toiletries over the past summers.

Hope Kidz

This week, Hope Kidz created love boxes just in time for Valentine’s Day! They were brightly colored, beautifully wrapped and filled with chocolate! Hope Kidz provided the perfect presents for your loved ones and supported their ministry financially!

HopeNYC Tweens

The Tweens ministry is exclusively for kids ages 10-12. They meet every Friday at 6pm for fellowship, worship, games, prizes, food & The Word! They also plan trips & have fun video contests!

They are launching with their first meeting tomorrow at 6pm! After a fantastic service they are serving up breakfast on Sunday at Compass: Ham and cheese sliders with tater tots! They successfully sold tickets over the week and all proceeds are going towards rescuing victims of human trafficking and providing clean drinking water to impoverished countries.

I’m just typing in amazement! Being a weekly attendee at HopeNYC, I see their enthusiasm, faith and passion in what they do! This has been a busy week but they’re going accomplish a lot this year!
