I remember sitting down hearing that yesterday at HopeNYC’s Father’s Day service and I agree! But I must mention that they learned from the best 👆🏽 In fact all of us do! At HopeNYC, your problem is our problem and your victories and achievements is our celebration! Over the years of attending, I see that the men of God here look out for their church family. Always aiming to encourage, give, teach and intercede in prayer for other sons and daughters. Yesterday, many celebrated their fathers, relatives and father figures and highly exalted their Heavenly Father. The one responsible for all good fathers. There were gifts, testimonies, dances, and more! It was such a good time! Many Hope Kidz spoke out in a video how they felt about their dads. WARNING ⚠️ some are cute and some are funny!
The oatmeal cream pie tonight was delish & FREE! It was crunchy creamy & compact! Not to mention the rich great-tasting center that’s totally Jodi Bakes! I wish I can have it for breakfast tomorrow morning! After today’s life-changing Hope-Day service, it certainly made the perfect after-service snack!
Hope Day Service- Wednesday’s at 7pm HopeNYC Church

Compass Cafe Cup of Hope: On a mission to help victims of human trafficking & impoverished countries in need of clean drinking water! Making the world better one cup at a time! 142-82 Rockaway Blvd. Check out the other blogs on this page to learn more! Follow this & my YouTube channel!
I love watching this video! Kids from HopeNYC describe their moms and wish them an early Happy Mother’s Day! Most of these parents attended yesterday’s dance where this video was first viewed. Hopers! Find your child or yourself or just hear all of them!
The dance was such a beautiful experience! Proceeds went towards HopeNYC’s International Missions Ministry who partnered with the ZionProject to help rescue sex trafficking victims. Some girls get trapped into it while some are sold by their own parents in an effort to provide for the other siblings in the family. Mothers were honored and treated like royalty last night at HopeNYC while giving towards the cause. Wildfire; the teen ministry of the church made the night into an elegant experience executing beautiful hospitality. Gentlemen escorted the mothers upstairs to their table. The girls attended to the needs of the guest and served the three course meal with the gentlemen joining in. There were gifts for every lady in the room; mom or not. There were special awards for our beautiful pastor, the lady crowned for mother of the year and gentleman of the night. There was also a crowning for best dressed. Entertainment was smooth! Reggae was performed live by Art Crawford and Eddie Neblett with DJ Mark Xclusive. The night could not have ended until the well-known reggae song: She’s Royal was played. It was all a wonderful night filled with entertainment, raffles, decorations, great food, exquisite gowns, dancing, relaxation, appreciation, love, photos…. check out the pictures! Also stay tuned on the HopeNYC website and Facebook for their upcoming Mother’s day service!
Okay so I actually didn’t go to Paris but I stepped out of New York! I did not catch a flight or lug a tote. Here at Compass Cafe, you set foot in another country! Come in and enjoy a sip of something from overseas.
Where will you go today?
Paris? The place where you can get coffee pressed to perfection? Not to mention neon macaroons bursting with color.
Guatemala? A sip of something Spanish while being allured by its amazing aroma.
Haiti? Enjoy an aromatic earthy blend and get some energy from the Petite Goave coffee. A six year old girl from this country sparked the idea of Compass Cafe a few years ago.
Down-south? Hands-down the tastiest by Jodi Bakes
Macchiato! My favorite Italian word and very first beverage at Compass! There’s also the rich great tasting houseblend you can never go wrong with!
There is much more from many places! Where will you go today? If you enjoyed the video please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube Channel! Will Appreciate it!
Imagine having group of people you can connect, be real and go places with. This pretty much sums of the Lift Off Young Adult Ministry at HopeNYC Church! It’s an exclusive ministry for 20 somethings both single and married! This fun ministry meets once a month and it just celebrated its 2017 launch yesterday at Compass Café. At Lift Off, there’s fellowship, great food, new friends, hot topics, and outings! 20 somethings enjoy coffee in the winter then mocktails in the summer. It’s a great place for young adults to mingle and get connected. Yesterday we enjoyed sliders, wings, s’mores dip and coffee! We got to know each other through games, plan our next meeting and talk about good real things! There’s a ministry for every age group at HopeNYC!
Compass Coffee had just celebrated it’s first birthday! The streets were lined with excited party guests ready for the celebration. I could tell it was going to be huge! All of the party guests received gifts for this birthday! Free coffee, birthday buttons, T-shirts and special elegant cookies made specifically for the occasion by House of Fray!
There were also things that added to excitement such as a live DJ, balloons, my raffle ticket # possibly being called, seeing what the new Jodi Bakes thanksgiving dessert tray looks like and being one of the first 50 people on line to get a discount card.
As we finally went in, each person received their discount card and free T-shirt then started ordering. I saw fresh desserts, shelves filled with candy, and a very happy welcoming staff that lined up to greet everyone at the door. Friends were sitting down enjoying conversations in and out of the cafe as the music played. A few of them were even dancing. The orders varied from coffee to croissants, to tea, to eclairs, to soup, to sandwiches and waffles. Everything everyone had looked absolutely appetizing!
We didn’t keep the fun all to ourselves. Those who walked or drove by got invited somehow by someone. The baristas served coffee and pumpkin bars to pedestrians waiting at the bus stop and firefighters at the station. It was an amazing and memorable birthday.
Whats your favorite chowder? I discovered mine today!
I’m estatic about this fall season. The breeze, silent streets, pumpkin spice, and the new warm soups and chowders at Compass cafe! Jodi Bakes has made phenomenal desserts but her soups has already made a huge impression!
Many of the Compass customers, baristas, HopeNYC attendees including myself all enjoy the soups and have only good things to say. Not only are we satisfied, we are eager to know what tomorrow’s soup of the day will be.
Today’s was ham and potato chowder. It was so good that I ran away refusing to give a gulp of this chowder to my husband that kindly asked to try it. It was a beautiful thick white creamy chowder with vibrant specks of color from the minced vegetables inside. There were also generous chunks of potato and ham. It was a nice heavy filling satisfying soup. The taste was incredible and packed with flavor. I say come to Compass Cafe for their delicious well-known coffee but grabbing a soup this fall is a must! If you choose to stay, they will serve it you in an adorable burgandy soup crock with a handle.
Have you ever tried this pumpkin spice latte? I encourage you to visit Compass Coffee and grab this latte for fall 2016! Very genuine autumn taste and smell. The spices relaxes you while the coffee wakes you.
This cafe is an amazing must-see fall destination. The decor, the desserts, the atmosphere, the aroma…I can see that they take fall seriously! Pencil in your visit to this cafe to your activities list right between hay rides and apple picking because it’s worth the visit. Every beverage, dessert and item purchased here goes towards helping children in different countries get clean drinking water.

I had a good afternoon at Compass Cafe with my friend Judith. We both enjoyed sipping some rich hot chocolate while biting into the new fresh baked macaroons at Compass Cafe.
The maple macaroon had a good crunch and really tasted like pure rich maple syrup as if I were biting into a drenched pancake for breakfast.
The chocolate macaroon was finished in 2 short crunchy satisfying bites. It had such an indulgent taste on the sweet delicate outer cookie then splendid genuine chocolate flavor in the filling.
Today I enjoyed these macaroons with a friend but there are others ways for these macaroons to be enjoyed. Compass provides a fancy light blue slide out box that holds six macaroons. This pretty petite french dessert can be used a gift for your friends. A gesture of love for a sweetheart or family member. An appreciative present for parents. A nice surprise for your professor or co worker.
The best part is, the macaroons are one of the healthiest lightest desserts here and completely guilt free. Made with love and taste like fall.
