The Soothing Sound of Saxophone Worship 🎷

Listen as Andre plays To God be The Glory on the saxophone. He played it during today’s service at HopeNYC. Let this song of worship uplift you as it brings the presence of God with His peace through your phone/computer speakers.

Have a listen, relax and enjoy 😊

They kick it up a notch after a minute! Keep on listening 👂

My Trip ( Easy Patriotic Treats Ideas included)

Hitting the road for a couple of hours, making a splash in the swimming pool after jumping in the jacuzzi, enjoying meals with good friends…

It sounds like an ideal Memorial Day outing!

I had this adventure last Saturday in PA with my fitness Hope Group! When you join a group at HopeNYC, you can except to learn and maybe take some notes depending on the class.

You would never expect to take a roadtrip to Pennsylvania just to see scenic views, visit the outlets, go to the resort with a pool and more! The rain didn’t even scare us! There was a 100% chance of rain in Pennsylvania but we didn’t cancel. It was the most farthest fun day I’ve ever had! When you are part of the Hope family or involved in a Hope group class, you never know what could happen and that’s what I love!

Here are some very simple patriotic treats ideas (Not recipes…don’t want to make you read much much longer! I also didn’t photograph these treats except for two of them! Just thought to share the most last minute and patriotic treats possible to help make your memorial, labor or Independence Day a-little bit more delicious!

Chocolate dipped Oreos!

This is one that I have done before! What you will need is:

  1. White & blue colored melting chocolate.
  2. Cake-pop sticks
  3. Oreos (Costco/Bjs box if you’re serving many)
  4. Patriotic sprinkles ( Try Michael’s or a Bakeshop)
  5. A fridge with space!

Patriotic apples! Dazzle your guests and feed them the healthiest dessert on your menu!

Just buy & roll them in sprinkles!

This aren’t patriotic but many of you will be starting a fire or firing up the oven today! These are photos of some indoor oven s’mores!

Prepping

Finished!

Patriotic pizza!

Chocolate dipped and sprinkled cones!

American flag waffles!

Red, white and blueberry!

American flag fruit kabobs

Patriotic toast!

Mini patriotic shortcake cups!

Rice Krispies treats dipped in chocolate and sprinkled!

Sticky Wings

“I brought you back 5 wings ”

It was one of the most glorious statements you could ever hear from a husband after a long day of errands and no dinner. He had just returned from a Hope Group called The Head of The Household. They discuss their important roles as a husband and the real stuff about marriages with a new restaurant being their classroom each time. Men can benefit from a group like this!

Dallas BBQ is of course the place of the sticky wings and it has been a favorite spot for Hopers maybe….for about 10 years now! We’ve enjoyed youth Christmas parties, ministry meetings, Hope Group fun days, ladies day out, men’s night out and just plain hanging out! You learn and grow so much from just attending HopeNYC; The services, taking a Hope group class, and especially on an outing over a plate of sticky wings!

On an upcoming post I’ll share alittle more about how the Hope groups semester went and how you can grow if you would like to take a class in the future!

Woman’s T Party

I was advised to put my tea bag on my eyes to reduce puffiness! The Tea party happened last Sunday at HopeNYC. I know you’re imaging floral dresses, big hats and tea pots but the women’s ministry had quite a different agenda in mind! It wasn’t tea it was T!

T is for

  • Tips! From reducing wrinkles to opening an online jewelry store to recreating your T-Shirt! We went home 🏡 rich in tips that can help make us money, destress & beautify us!
  • TV! With a big TV screen placed on the stage and a panning camera, we saw ourselves! In fact! This event was an exciting Live TV show!
  • Time with Friends! Everyone sat together around the tables enjoying food and all of the segments along with a fashion show.
  • Time for ourselves! It was indeed a getaway from the kids and husband because this was JUST FOR WOMEN 16 to 106 years old! 😃
  • Time with God! This was the best part! It’s truly a miracle to get stress to finally leave a woman’s mind because stress is stubborn carrying many reasons behind it. With a few individuals interceding and praying for us in God’s presence, He removed every bit of that stress! We left the meeting delivered and changed! More than just an enjoyable evening. Only God can do that. An aim for every woman’s meeting is to help make us more stronger each time so we can feel it and be it!
  • Tea there was none.

What You Need To Know!

What is a Sock Hop?

A Sock Hop was a dance event held for teenagers where they danced in their socks to avoid scratching the wooden gym floor with their shoes.

What dances were popular?

What did they wear?

This familiar Disney channel throwback shows some attire in this 50s themed episode- https://youtu.be/3AcGjhjwnfc

Notice the high waist, belt, knee length, bottoms and short sleeves top

Sunglasses, stud earrings and tie-on head pieces seemed to be the thing! They sure did wear HATS

Men wore jackets 🧥

ust a few of the many facts about the 50s! TODAY, HopeNYC’s Dance Ministry is accomplishing so much and I hope many of you will support the Sock Hop! Kids are learning how to dance every Friday and worship deeper! Men, women, adults and children are

dancing every Sunday and creating an atmosphere of worship at the front of the altar during service.

The Kids are Busy!

School is not the only thing this week on the minds of the kids at HopeNYC. They have been busy helping victims of human trafficking! Creating over 60 candy-filled boxes! Taking charge of a breakfast menu! Supporting the ministry! Prepping for a 2018 launch event!

Kids have a blast at HopeNYC church. They

learn, pray, grow and play but also take care of their ministries. HopeKidz and Tweens help kids grow in Christ all year round in the most exciting creative ways. They’re constantly aiming to make each year better than the last. They also make new kids feel welcomed and at times make it their mission to help others across the globe.

Sending over some shoes & toiletries over the past summers.

Hope Kidz

This week, Hope Kidz created love boxes just in time for Valentine’s Day! They were brightly colored, beautifully wrapped and filled with chocolate! Hope Kidz provided the perfect presents for your loved ones and supported their ministry financially!

HopeNYC Tweens

The Tweens ministry is exclusively for kids ages 10-12. They meet every Friday at 6pm for fellowship, worship, games, prizes, food & The Word! They also plan trips & have fun video contests!

They are launching with their first meeting tomorrow at 6pm! After a fantastic service they are serving up breakfast on Sunday at Compass: Ham and cheese sliders with tater tots! They successfully sold tickets over the week and all proceeds are going towards rescuing victims of human trafficking and providing clean drinking water to impoverished countries.

I’m just typing in amazement! Being a weekly attendee at HopeNYC, I see their enthusiasm, faith and passion in what they do! This has been a busy week but they’re going accomplish a lot this year!
