A tall tasty tower of treats from Compass Café with some Sweet insanity by Lisa!
I can’t wait to see the look on my family and friends‘ faces! Compass Coffee’s dessert towers has eclairs, triple threat brownies, pumpkin bars, pecan bread pudding, macaroons and lots more from Jodi Bakes! There’s also cake pops from Pint Sized Bites!
For my dinner hosts, I’m also bringing some Sweet Insanity by Lisa cookies! The cookies were primarily for us (me and my husband) but we wanted to share so others can enjoy a treat that came from another fantastic brilliant baker at HopeNYC.
We ordered two dozen in multiple flavors: cranberry white chocolate chip (My Fav), pecan sandies, chocolate chip, coconut cloud, chocolate chip and butterfinger! I️t would take several long paragraphs more to describe every detail of the delectably amazing taste of these cookies! Grab yourself a box one day, these cookies got what it takes to satisfy you!
As you see, some of the cookies are gone from the box. They were either eaten or set aside for giving. These are going WOW the crowd 😮
I️’m not sure if I will be able to record taste reactions later on which is why I️ post now in excitement!
I’m beyond confident that they’re going to love the desserts but after a good thanksgiving meal!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Be sure to go make it to the parade! It’s coming up on December 3rd at 5pm. Come see spectacularly beautiful floats, Christmas characters, thousands of lights and Queens’ biggest Christmas tree lighting to end the night! There will also be hot chocolate, live music and the Hope express train 🚂 ! ALL FREE!
Looking to have a more grand Thanksgiving this year? Here are some keys to maximize your holiday experience! First off you would need to eat more, extend your family and of course, be thankful! This can get done in just one week! Here’s how!
Make room for the Thanksgiving Tower!
This is 10 times more than your typical Thanksgiving dessert! With this tower, you will get to enjoy your favorite classic: pumpkin pie….along an unbelievable variety the best desserts ever created! Check out this video! You will get brownies, cheesecake, cake pops, bread pudding, macaroons and much more! Plus this is shareable for friends, families, co-workers and groups! It’s going to be hard to make room for dessert this year! Proceeds from this Compass Café Purchase will go to providing clean water and rescuing victims of human trafficking!
Come spent time with the Hope family! They will love you and make you feel welcome as soon as you step inside! Church is the perfect place to be thankful and express that gratitude to God. The one who gave us everything we have. After service, come enjoy HopeNYC’s Thanksgiving feast! There will be plenty of food and friends which makes it a great pre-celebration to the big day!
SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE!
Text a friend or get a fancy card from dollar tree wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving! Maybe a new friend you met on Big Sunday. It’s also fun to share your experience by taking photos of your thanksgiving tower and your day!
After this is all over, be on the lookout for HopeNYC’s Christmas Parade on Rockaway Blvd! This will be on Sunday December 3rd at 5pm! A great way to kick off your Christmas celebration!
It was a powerful weekend in Brooklyn and many received fresh oil!
Fresh Oil Conference was held at Purpose Life Church this weekend and it was both a reviving and fun time for women. If you can get on a computer to register or could have heard anything from the tent during Saturday’s session, you were not excluded.
EVERYTHING that happened in the conference would just uplift your spirit more and more. Every prayer spoken into the atmosphere, the words of the songs, every artistic act of exhortation, the special gifts, the music, every visiting guest minister, the senior pastors and of course every message that was preached! Everything that happened was carefully orchestrated by God.
Learning about physical and spiritual oil was amazing. Receiving it will leave you speechless! Many women left the conference changed with a refreshed anointed spirit. Also with a Fresh Oil goodie bag, T-shirts, fabulous photos, raffle prize, and a bottle of anointing oil.
This weekend, you are invited to one of the greatest birthday celebrations in New York! This Sunday is not going to be ordinary. Compass Coffee turns two years old and this birthday has been incredibly and carefully planned.
Compass is a Missions coffee shop that was created to help people in other countries get clean drinking water and rescue girls out of human trafficking through its partnership with The Zion project!
We will hear from the actual founder of the Zion Project: Pastor Deven Wallace. We will see her live and she will be preaching THIS Sunday at 10:30am at HopeNYC. Right after service, Compass will actually be giving you presents 🎁 as we celebrate this birthday! There will ALSO be special surprises for people who purchase a cup of coffee, dessert or item that day!
The fact that Pastor Deven will be at HopeNYC on Compass’ Birthday is not a coincidence or luck but this was indeed a divine appointment set up by God. In fact, Compass is a divine idea founded to help others and it will continue it’s mission even stronger as it steps into it’s second year! Read more about the MISSION here
The party isn’t over! The celebration of freedom still continues with patriotic colors and a cake to cut. The Freedom Cake is back at Compass! Fans had happily reunited with the cake this weekend. Just like last year, it’s going fast! Many are in love with the cake because of it’s eye-catching trio of colors on the surface and in the slices. WE are also fond of the delicious fresh homemade vanilla taste. You may find yourself back at the job today but you can continue celebrating with a satisfying slice! It tastes like a celebration any day after July 4th🎉
TONS of food, good music, dogs, dancing, games and the most awesome view of fireworks from the neighborhood at night. I can definitely say my fourth of July was well spent! As I walked in helping Jay deliver a large tray of chicken empanadas, we saw tables lined up with endless entrees! Pork chops, BBQ Chicken, homemade bread, pelau, turkey burgers, grilled fish, chicharon, macaroni pie, and much more! I saw people playing twister, table tennis, ludo, poker and volleyball. I sat with a group for a monopoly game. It didn’t go so well for me…I went to jail three times and had to pay somebody’s rent for almost every turn. I did come into plenty of money but it was hard to purchase properties that wasn’t already taken during my arrest. Overall I had fun loosing with good (competitive) friends. Speaking of that, two adorable friends joined us for the picnic.
Later on, we danced the night away in the church parking lot celebrating freedom!
I love watching this video! Kids from HopeNYC describe their moms and wish them an early Happy Mother’s Day! Most of these parents attended yesterday’s dance where this video was first viewed. Hopers! Find your child or yourself or just hear all of them!
The dance was such a beautiful experience! Proceeds went towards HopeNYC’s International Missions Ministry who partnered with the ZionProject to help rescue sex trafficking victims. Some girls get trapped into it while some are sold by their own parents in an effort to provide for the other siblings in the family. Mothers were honored and treated like royalty last night at HopeNYC while giving towards the cause. Wildfire; the teen ministry of the church made the night into an elegant experience executing beautiful hospitality. Gentlemen escorted the mothers upstairs to their table. The girls attended to the needs of the guest and served the three course meal with the gentlemen joining in. There were gifts for every lady in the room; mom or not. There were special awards for our beautiful pastor, the lady crowned for mother of the year and gentleman of the night. There was also a crowning for best dressed. Entertainment was smooth! Reggae was performed live by Art Crawford and Eddie Neblett with DJ Mark Xclusive. The night could not have ended until the well-known reggae song: She’s Royal was played. It was all a wonderful night filled with entertainment, raffles, decorations, great food, exquisite gowns, dancing, relaxation, appreciation, love, photos…. check out the pictures! Also stay tuned on the HopeNYC website and Facebook for their upcoming Mother’s day service!
Fun day is not just a term that described our delicious Monday night adventure at Elena’s 43 , It was a significant required set aside day specially planned to celebrate an accomplishing graduating group. Who graduated? From where?
At HopeNYC, there are many groups you can join to learn skills and fellowship. These are called Hope Groups and there is one for everyone!
My husband and I were honored to teach this semester. He taught a Spanish group while I taught beginner bloggers. On Monday, the Spanish Hope Group had their fun day at a Spanish restaurant while the bloggers group joined in and captured the experience. Although our classes were not in a classroom, we exercised the skills at the restaurant. The Spanish group spoke to the waiters in Spanish and truly aimed to hold the conversation with one another. They did great! As we sat down and ate, we had great conversations and I got to know everyone else much more. I’m excited to meet with them on Sunday for church next time. We had salads served with the restaurant’s delicious dressing! Some of us enjoyed chicken while some ordered the salmon while some got the steak, or the shrimp, even the lobster! We also sipped fresh fruit smoothies, and sodas! We had a fiesta of a time with laughs and good conversation.
