This blog discusses good news and fills you in on kingdom events I hear about.
Today, I think we can use some encouragement. Obviously, we have all been through a number of obstacles. The battle can feel ongoing, after taking multiple attempts to seek out solutions and wait for deliverance.
A dollop of depression, a drizzle of stress, shavings of bitter, and sprinkles of anxiety can really seem to top it all off. It’s unhealthy!
Instead, fill up with as much as The Lord as you can in any way. HEAR, SING, DANCE, READ, SPEAK, LEARN ABOUT and SEEK HIM!
It may seem tough to push through or figure out how it would all be okay but don’t leave it to chance. Embrace the one who adores you right now. Even if it doesn’t make sense, having anything to do with Jesus can bring you freedom and peace from the feelings in your mind as you continue to wait for your answer. No matter what, His love will chase you down.
Get your fill:
- Pray… then open your bible.
- Pray with one or two friends who will support and agree with you. Matthew 18:19
- Listen to worship songs throughout your day and prayer time. (Comment for suggestions)
- Download the Ending your day right app.
- Find a plan in the Bible app that suits you (21 days to beat depression is a good one even if you’re not all that depressed)
- Went to church? Was the last sermon amazing? Listen to it again during the week by asking the media team if there is a CD/MP4 or live stream information.
- Encourage yourself when there is no one and speak life. It works more than you know! There was actually a physical experiment that proves your words changes things. (Comment for more details)
- Pray alone at home and on walks.
- Remember that all things good and bad work together for your good if you live in Jesus.
- Make a list of the things that are actually going good right now on paper.
- Remember Jesus: He has overcome the world and has went through far worse. He gets you!

I was rushing out of the house getting ready for a fantastic Sunday service at HopeNYC. Time was ticking & there was still quite a few things to do in the short remaining 15 minutes I had left. I definitely couldn’t get it all done if making breakfast was one of them.
Did I skip breakfast just to get to church in time?
No! Because the church had the breakfast!
The Compass Café part of the building to be exact! They were serving up an excellent Trini breakfast that rescued my appetite! It tasted great & I was surely satisfied. Only a simple $5 gets you the breakfast and goes back into Compass’ mission: to provide clean drinking water to impoverished countries and help rescue victims of human trafficking. My breakfast this morning went towards helping someone and there’s nothing more filling than that.
In the weeks to come they will be serving all kinds of breakfasts on Sunday morning inspired by different places. (I personally can’t wait for Tex Mex and southern breakfast)
Today’s breakfast was two bakes, fried aloo ( potato) and corn beef.

A tall tasty tower of treats from Compass Café with some Sweet insanity by Lisa!
I can’t wait to see the look on my family and friends‘ faces! Compass Coffee’s dessert towers has eclairs, triple threat brownies, pumpkin bars, pecan bread pudding, macaroons and lots more from Jodi Bakes! There’s also cake pops from Pint Sized Bites!
For my dinner hosts, I’m also bringing some Sweet Insanity by Lisa cookies! The cookies were primarily for us (me and my husband) but we wanted to share so others can enjoy a treat that came from another fantastic brilliant baker at HopeNYC.
We ordered two dozen in multiple flavors: cranberry white chocolate chip (My Fav), pecan sandies, chocolate chip, coconut cloud, chocolate chip and butterfinger! I️t would take several long paragraphs more to describe every detail of the delectably amazing taste of these cookies! Grab yourself a box one day, these cookies got what it takes to satisfy you!
As you see, some of the cookies are gone from the box. They were either eaten or set aside for giving. These are going WOW the crowd 😮
I️’m not sure if I will be able to record taste reactions later on which is why I️ post now in excitement!
I’m beyond confident that they’re going to love the desserts but after a good thanksgiving meal!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
