The Soothing Sound of Saxophone Worship 🎷

Listen as Andre plays To God be The Glory on the saxophone. He played it during today’s service at HopeNYC. Let this song of worship uplift you as it brings the presence of God with His peace through your phone/computer speakers.

Have a listen, relax and enjoy 😊

They kick it up a notch after a minute! Keep on listening 👂

Filling you In With Encouraging Tips!

This blog discusses good news and fills you in on kingdom events I hear about.

Today, I think we can use some encouragement. Obviously, we have all been through a number of obstacles. The battle can feel ongoing, after taking multiple attempts to seek out solutions and wait for deliverance.

A dollop of depression, a drizzle of stress, shavings of bitter, and sprinkles of anxiety can really seem to top it all off. It’s unhealthy!

Instead, fill up with as much as The Lord as you can in any way. HEAR, SING, DANCE, READ, SPEAK, LEARN ABOUT and SEEK HIM!

It may seem tough to push through or figure out how it would all be okay but don’t leave it to chance. Embrace the one who adores you right now. Even if it doesn’t make sense, having anything to do with Jesus can bring you freedom and peace from the feelings in your mind as you continue to wait for your answer. No matter what, His love will chase you down.

Get your fill:

  • Pray… then open your bible.
  • Pray with one or two friends who will support and agree with you. Matthew 18:19
  • Listen to worship songs throughout your day and prayer time. (Comment for suggestions)
  • Download the Ending your day right app.
  • Find a plan in the Bible app that suits you (21 days to beat depression is a good one even if you’re not all that depressed)
  • Went to church? Was the last sermon amazing? Listen to it again during the week by asking the media team if there is a CD/MP4 or live stream information.
  • Encourage yourself when there is no one and speak life. It works more than you know! There was actually a physical experiment that proves your words changes things. (Comment for more details)
  • Pray alone at home and on walks.
  • Remember that all things good and bad work together for your good if you live in Jesus.
  • Make a list of the things that are actually going good right now on paper.
  • Remember Jesus: He has overcome the world and has went through far worse. He gets you!

At HopeNYC, many has been delivered from problems and healed from “incurable” diseases! This is a praying church and The spirit of God is here! Visit if you are in or visiting New York www.HopeNYC.com

The Proposal 💍

Have you ever been proposed to or perhaps imagined how it would be? Would you prefer an intimate setting with the question popped in the middle of a romantic date or a bold public proposal in front of your friends and family?

I’m glad mines was public. One thing I sure won’t forget was the immense happiness that came from the Hope family! I remember the smiles along with the volume of the screams and cheers. Although it continued to rain heavy, this special moment still took place with all of us soaking wet. Remember my post on Family Day? Well this happened on that event when it was on THIS DAY in 2015 during the award ceremony. It was a great day for me. Before I claimed my prized possession 💍 I received some prizes. My team (Team hulk) was the winning team that took home the big trophy! Plus I won a medal 🏅 for volleyball.

Even though I am describing my day, I am also extending an invite to you to be part of Family day at HopeNYC. It’s on June 10th this year and there are games for everyone and all ages.

Today we are both very happy together in our marriage (Yes there was a Hope wedding too) But it couldn’t have all happened without this proposal. We also still have a loving supportive Hope family. I hope one day for you to visit and become part of this family.

Here’s a quick shot of my proposal in Baisely Pond Park during Family Day! Family day 2018 info here:

My Trip ( Easy Patriotic Treats Ideas included)

Hitting the road for a couple of hours, making a splash in the swimming pool after jumping in the jacuzzi, enjoying meals with good friends…

It sounds like an ideal Memorial Day outing!

I had this adventure last Saturday in PA with my fitness Hope Group! When you join a group at HopeNYC, you can except to learn and maybe take some notes depending on the class.

You would never expect to take a roadtrip to Pennsylvania just to see scenic views, visit the outlets, go to the resort with a pool and more! The rain didn’t even scare us! There was a 100% chance of rain in Pennsylvania but we didn’t cancel. It was the most farthest fun day I’ve ever had! When you are part of the Hope family or involved in a Hope group class, you never know what could happen and that’s what I love!

Here are some very simple patriotic treats ideas (Not recipes…don’t want to make you read much much longer! I also didn’t photograph these treats except for two of them! Just thought to share the most last minute and patriotic treats possible to help make your memorial, labor or Independence Day a-little bit more delicious!

Chocolate dipped Oreos!

This is one that I have done before! What you will need is:

  1. White & blue colored melting chocolate.
  2. Cake-pop sticks
  3. Oreos (Costco/Bjs box if you’re serving many)
  4. Patriotic sprinkles ( Try Michael’s or a Bakeshop)
  5. A fridge with space!

Patriotic apples! Dazzle your guests and feed them the healthiest dessert on your menu!

Just buy & roll them in sprinkles!

This aren’t patriotic but many of you will be starting a fire or firing up the oven today! These are photos of some indoor oven s’mores!

Prepping

Finished!

Patriotic pizza!

Chocolate dipped and sprinkled cones!

American flag waffles!

Red, white and blueberry!

Sticky Wings

“I brought you back 5 wings ”

It was one of the most glorious statements you could ever hear from a husband after a long day of errands and no dinner. He had just returned from a Hope Group called The Head of The Household. They discuss their important roles as a husband and the real stuff about marriages with a new restaurant being their classroom each time. Men can benefit from a group like this!

Dallas BBQ is of course the place of the sticky wings and it has been a favorite spot for Hopers maybe….for about 10 years now! We’ve enjoyed youth Christmas parties, ministry meetings, Hope Group fun days, ladies day out, men’s night out and just plain hanging out! You learn and grow so much from just attending HopeNYC; The services, taking a Hope group class, and especially on an outing over a plate of sticky wings!

On an upcoming post I’ll share alittle more about how the Hope groups semester went and how you can grow if you would like to take a class in the future!

What Do You Want To Learn?

Ever wanted to learn something? Hope Groups has made it happen for hundreds of people! From building a computer, learning Spanish, operating a DSLR camera, playing an instrument, acing a job interview, living a healthy life, growing in your spiritual life, learning to double dutch, photoshop, and so much more than you can imagine! I posted my article Growth Groups three years ago explaining the different classes offered by facilitators from HopeNYC! After three years, things has immensely improved! The name is changed to Hope Groups! Registration is also super simple and swift because it’s online! There are also new facilitators and classes every semester!

I have taken a healthier approach this semester and decided to join two health and wellness hope groups! From the short time I’ve been there, its been totally eye-opening, exciting, interesting and informative! One is taught by an actual physician and the other is taught by a phenomenal woman who has conquered the most challenging weight-loss obstacles many women face today! All the facilitators are highly skilled and passionate about what they teach! At the end of every semester, The Hope Groups ministry has always asked this question: What classes do you want to see next semester? My readers, What do you want to learn?
