The Crème Brûlée Cupcake!
It has a nice golden brown color and it’s topped with a circle of sweet creamy yellow custard. Toasted on top with a torch, the surface and edges of the cake are nice and crispy. I discovered that the custard was actually a filling and not just a topping!
In fact, quite a few cupcakes were filled inside. S’mores! Dulce the Leche! Raspberry! These cupcakes were made with an original, unique and brilliant recipe by Jodi Bakes.

It’s Award Winning, famous and an irresistible 5 star dessert! These are Jodi Bakes popular pumpkin bars! It’s a favorite in the neighborhood around fall! When the word gets out, these are in high demand! It’s an original comforting recipe that can only be found at Compass cafe’! I got a lot of good things to say about these pumpkin bars!
You gotta try it! You can get yours with or without the diced walnuts on top. The walnuts adds a great taste and crunch to the cake which is loaded with pumpkin flavor! The frosting is sweet and has a wonderful milky vanilla taste. Although its sweet you will still want to eat it all because its such a good combo with the pumpkin cake and walnuts! Plus it’s an original recipe made with care! I can taste it! You can find these pumpkin bars at Compass cafe. They provide the perfect environment for you to relax, work, have meetings, tutor a child, do homework, read a novel and much more! I work there all the time on my laptop doing a lot of photo and video editing and some writing and wordpressing! Plan your visit one day! The smell of the place is so much like fall with the scent of pumpkin pie candles. The pumpkin bar is the first of many fall treats the cafe is going to have! Its not a cookie but a cookie on top of a frosted cupcake!
Knowing it was going to be a chocolate dessert, I went ahead and ordered. I always enjoyed the rich crunchy chocolate cookies that sandwiched the cream. However, that pesky sugary center would often be scraped off and replaced with a strawberry. The Gloreo didn’t have the same white cream we all know. It was actually an oreo frosting with some chocolate flavor. As I dug my fork in, I noticed a lightly crisped surface but digging deeper, the texture was light fluffy and creamy. As I got passed the frosting and got down to chocolate, I noticed it was a good moist cake and a firm foundation for the frosting and the oreo cookie.
Overall it was sweet but I’m still hooked because of the chocolate flavor and great tasting oreo frosting.
Filled with marshmallow cream. Topped with drizzled chocolate…
The jinkie is a delight on this drizzling day. It’s not from the store nor from the factory but fresh from the oven onto display. Can I be honest with you? I am sensitive to very sweet foods. When I first glanced at the jinkie, it looked just as sweet as the twinkie. As I recapped the last time I purchased a twinkie, the sugary white frosted filling, very sweet outer cake, the guilt and irritation came to mind. I went ahead with my order & got the jinkie served on plate. As I bit into the soft, fluffy, cake texture, I was surprised about how not sweet it was! The sweetness that was in my memory was far different from the reality I was experiencing biting into the jinkie. It was sweet in a light and satifying way never overpowering. As I took the second bite, I tasted the chocolate and cream. The chocoalte was rich and also not so sweet. The cream….It was different! No sugary frosting this time! Instead it was delightful light marshmellow fluff filling. I really enjoyed the rest of the jinkie with a cup of yesterday’s post…The Cafe Au Lait! Was the Jinky dunked? Yes it was!
