What You Need To Know!
What is a Sock Hop?
A Sock Hop was a dance event held for teenagers where they danced in their socks to avoid scratching the wooden gym floor with their shoes.
What dances were popular?
What did they wear?
This familiar Disney channel throwback shows some attire in this 50s themed episode- –https://youtu.be/3AcGjhjwnfc
Notice the high waist, belt, knee length, bottoms and short sleeves top
Sunglasses, stud earrings and tie-on head pieces seemed to be the thing! They sure did wear HATS
Men wore jackets 🧥
ust a few of the many facts about the 50s! TODAY, HopeNYC’s Dance Ministry is accomplishing so much and I hope many of you will support the Sock Hop! Kids are learning how to dance every Friday and worship deeper! Men, women, adults and children are
dancing every Sunday and creating an atmosphere of worship at the front of the altar during service.
